Performance Lab® NutriGenesis® (formerly BioGenesis™) vitamins, minerals and amino acids are lab-grown using a patented process that mirrors nutrient genesis in nature.

To grow NutriGenesis®, live single-cell organisms (probiotics, brewer’s yeast and botanicals) are seeded with micronutrients in a hydroponic medium.

As the live cells take up and metabolize the micronutrients, they divide and thrive – naturally growing new vitamins, minerals and amino acids within a matrix of cofactors including:

  • Proteins (essential and non-essential amino acids)
  • Complex carbohydrates (beta-1,3-glucans and mannan)
  • Digestion-supportive probiotics, prebiotics and enzymes
  • Antioxidants SOD (superoxide dismutase) and GPx4 (glutathione)

Because they match whole foods’ natural nutrients-with-cofactors structure, NutriGenesis® vitamins, minerals and amino acids may be more easily recognized, absorbed and utilized by the body.

NutriGenesis® simply works better than synthetic or isolated nutrient forms.

Why might we need more vitamins and minerals today?

Peak biological performance depends on adequate intake of essential vitamins and minerals.

The concern: Many aren’t getting the optimal nutrition they need for their bodies and minds to excel.

Part of the issue may be that some foods appear to be less nutrient-dense than they used to be.

Recent analyses of 50 years’ worth of agricultural nutrition data suggest a decline in some fruit and vegetable nutrients, including protein, calcium, phosphorous, riboflavin, iron and vitamin C:

Suggested contributing factors to fruit and vegetable nutritional decline include:

  1. Soil depletion. Over generations, farming may strip essential nutrients from soil;
  2. Cultivar selection. Fruit and vegetable varieties may be chosen for their visual appeal and size rather than their nutritional content;
  3. Hybrid varieties. Fruits and vegetables designed for accelerated growth may reach maturity faster than their ability to absorb nutrients from soil;
  4. High yield practices. Known as the Dilution Effect: As more vegetables and fruits are grown in a given area, their nutrition levels decline;
  5. Pesticides and herbicides May negatively affect fruit and vegetable nutritional value, as well as potentially harming the environment.
Fruit and vegetable nutritional decline

Even after harvest, some food processing and cooking methods may further diminish nutritional content of fruits and vegetables.

One survey that tracked 16,000 adults for three years appears to hint at potential consequences of a nutrient-diminished food supply, suggesting that:

  • 34% of adults fail to get enough Vitamin A
  • 25% fail to get enough Vitamin C
  • 70% fail to get enough Vitamin D
  • 60% fail to get enough Vitamin E
  • 38% fail to get enough Calcium
  • 45% fail to get enough Magnesium

As foods become less nutrient-dense, suboptimal nutritional intake becomes more of a concern.

Suboptimal nutrient intake may interfere with normal cell function and set the stage for health issues.

NutriGenesis® helps restore what may be missing from your diet.

Performance Lab® created NutriGenesis® as an advanced method of producing highly absorbable vitamins, minerals and aminos that more efficiently and effectively address today’s nutritional shortfalls.

  • Cleaner and safer: NutriGenesis® nutrients require no pesticides or herbicides to produce; they are grown in a sterile laboratory setting that is free of toxins, microbes and contaminants.
  • Better for the planet: NutriGenesis® nutrients have a negligible environmental impact, especially when compared to factory farming for phytonutrients and mining for minerals.

How NutriGenesis® is made

Performance Lab®’s patented NutriGenesis® process is akin to a clean, efficient microcosm of farming performed in a state-of-the-art laboratory setting:

  1. Planting. Seed nutrient (as mineral salt) is embedded into a glycoprotein matrix. Glycoprotein is a protein+sugar molecule needed for cellular growth and development.
  2. Germination. A growth culture that naturally nourishes the seed nutrient is incorporated into the matrix, substituting for plant tissue. NutriGenesis® growth cultures include:
    • Daucus sativus (carrot) and Medicago sativa (alfalfa)
    • Saccharomyces cerevisiae (Brewer’s Yeast)
  3. Growth. Like plants, NutriGenesis® cultures absorb mineral salts, micronutrients and water. The well-nourished nutrient culture grows – dividing from one cell into two, two into four, and so on.
  4. Harvest. When cultures reach maturity, the lab-grown NutriGenesis® vitamins, minerals and amino acids are collected, washed with purified fresh water and spray-dried.
